thanks for the write up. i'm glad to see more libertarian communists taking up the challenges of organization. i'm excited to hear more about your project.

as an aside: i really dig your group name, but i think i like the logo from Wild Rose Rebellion better than the classic anarcho-syndicalist flag. i think the Left is in desperate need of an overhaul in aesthetics. in the same way that political ideas and organizational forms need to be reinvented for today's context, the cultural expressions need to as well. although the cultural is distinct from the political, i don't think it's altogether separate from it.

Hey Richard Obsolete (you wouldn't have anything to do with that local underground newspaper that's sprung up recently?)

We're still around, although in a different form. Wild Rose Rebellion was the old group from 2007-2009 and Wild Rose Collective is the new group that started in 2009. We're mostly involved in the new Iowa City Solidarity Network (http://iowacitysolidarity.net/). Just clarifying, because the similar names often lead to confusion...

Good write-up- I enjoyed reading it. I'm afraid this is a story that I've seen unfold time and time again in my own 30 years of being involved in radical politics. Enthusiasm and action followed by rapid disillusionment.

It's unfortunate that only college students have the free time and personal security in this country to engage on these issues, and that they are rapidly sucked into the mainstream- jobs, health insurance, credit card debt. Maybe this extended economic downturn will start to wake up some older folks and remind them that their youthful ideals may still have merit when it comes to survival.

I'm sorry to read of your projects demise, but I hope you will keep the faith.

Greetings and congratulations, WRC. We are the First of May Anarchist Alliance(M1).

It is great to see you developing your project. We look forward to discussion and collaboration. You all may already know some of us from projects like Twin Cities IWW GMB. Solidarity & Defense, as well as more broad anarchist and revolutionary work. M1 is a specific and ideologically based anarchist project. It is distinct in this regard from the aforementioned groups.

Please stay in touch.

In struggle and solidarity!
